2019 seems to have started on a positive note for e-commerce giant Amazon. The company recently became the most valuable listed company in the world.
The most positive thing to note about the Amazon growth story is how the company is not basking on the laurels of its revenue generating cloud computing and e-commerce businesses and constantly finding new areas of growth. Amazon is not the Apple of the tech world where the latter is unable to think Innovation and move beyond the iPhone product to generate revenues.
A good example to cite here is Amazons recent push towards areas like content (Prime Video), Voice Assistant (Alexa), customer support and the food retail business. In fact, there are as many as 1,300 vacancies at Amazon India as of now. The company is looking to hire skilled graduates to fill these positions.
India has the highest number of job openings in Asia-Pacific. The number of openings in India are almost three times as compared to that in China. Apart from the 1,300 job openings in India, Amazon is looking to hire 467 in China, 381 in Japan, 250 in Australia, and 174 in Singapore.
According to Amazon India spokeswoman, India is a top destination for hiring talent and the company is looking for talent across levels. As of December 2018, Amazon employed 60,000 workers in India, which is around 10% of its global workforce of 6.1 lakh employees.
The areas that Amazon is hiring for currently include software development, product & marketing, machine learning, quality assurance, product management, supply chain, content development, web development, and operations. IT professionals in India can explore these 5 job openings at Amazon India.
